Royce Reyes of the Makati Aikido Club was promoted to 7th dan at Hombu Dojo's traditional Kagami Biraki celebration on 2025 January 12 in Hombu Dojo, in Tokyo. Two former MAC members were also promoted to 7th dan: Ma. Lourdes Macapawa of Davao Aikido and Abraham Chavez of Musubi Aikido. Both had gone on to found their own dojos in the 1990s. The three individuals are the first fully Philippines-grown aikidoists to be promoted to 7th dan by Japan Aikikai Hombu Dojo. |
